Name: | Evan Blake | Wolf Spider |
---|---|
Location: | (states/regions/territories) |
Biography:
A rich, blonde playboy from Gotham City, Evan Blake is an old friend of Kate Kane. Presumably, like the rest of their set, Evan’s family also comes from old Gotham money. Forever single and looking for adventure, Evan took on the identity of a thief-for-hire known as the Wolf Spider. He ran afoul of Batwoman when he started stealing paintings by a depression-era artist named Eisdenstadt (including staging a break-in at his own penthouse), whose works formed a map pointing to the location of money that the artist stole from a cruel businessman named Grantham. (Evan was hired by the elder Grantham’s grandson, Nathan.)
Despite his and Grantham's success in finding the money, Grantham was mortally wounded when a statue collapsed on top of him. Batwoman was forced to allow Wolf Spider to escape with the money, without ever finding out his identity. However, having decided the prize was blood money, Evan disposed of it in Slaughter Swamp.
Powers and Abilities:
Evan is an Olympic-level athlete. As the Wolf Spider, he employs various devices, such as venom-tipped throwing spikes, a grappling line, and glider wings. His costume is also implied to have technology that dampens his heat signature.
